Warm Up
  • Begin by completing the Introductory Series of classes (with me as your instructor*)

Weeks 1-2
Fitness Training
Find your Rhythm
  • Using photos, we will complete a full body assessment to identify areas of collapse, asymmetry, postural weakness and overall dysfunction in the fascia system.

  • Upon review you will literally see "where you stand" and understand why  certain issues persist.  Most people are surprised to see the level of imbalance and how it presents itself, typically starting in the lower legs and feet.

  • You will receive a 21-day program to complete at home.  This series will target a specific area of the body, incorporating fascia work, body alignment and posture training. Daily classes typically run 30 minutes. 

Month 1

  • Once your initial series is complete we will perform another assessment to review your changes and plan your next 21-day series.

  • We will continue this cycle until you have completed in-depth work on all needed areas of your body. We will redo certain classes or positions depending on your situation to ensure you experience the most relief possible.

I'm new to Block Therapy but it's changed my life. After my first 2 sessions I have slept more restful than I have in years. My posture has improved so much that I had to readjust my rearview mirror. For someone who has spent thousands of dollars on massage and chiropractic work, this is astounding to me.

Before Block Therapy I didn't know what was causing my chronic discomfort and pain.

 

I assumed it was stress, tight muscles, past surgeries and old injuries - and to a degree I was right.

But here's what I didn't know:

  • ​I had collapsed into my right foot and leg so the entire right side of my body was compressed. This asymmetry was wrecking havoc on my entire system.

  • This long-term asymmetry, combined with unconscious posture caused my fascia (connective tissue) to grip and adhere to various internal structures in an effort to keep me up straight. 

  • The pronation and external rotation of my right foot was in need of some serious adjustments! 

  • The hyperextension (locking) of my knees combined with their inward collapse was causing my pelvis to shift and rotate contributing to chronic hip and low back pain.

  • There is a huge difference between pain sites vs. cause sites. Most people focus on relieving pain where it hurts.  To find lasting relief I had to focus on the cause sites - where fascia is adhered and frozen.  Once I released this frozen, compressed tissue I was able to create positive changes to my posture and alignment. 

  • The best part - with a little guidance and support I was able to make these changes myself, while saving a lot of money in the long run.

FAQ

How long does the process take?

 

Guided plans typically run 4 months. As you complete each session plan you learn and develop the skills to use Block Therapy in your life - on your own. This is what sets it apart from other modalities - you are able to take control of your health and body by doing the work for yourself. You have the support and guidance from myself and the BT community for as long as you need.  

It is important to recognize that no one else can do this work for you. I will teach, guide and support without limitation but in order to be truly effective, Block Therapy must be practiced by each person who desires deep and lasting change!

 

 

Can I stop going to my other therapists?

Block Therapy doesn't have to be a stand alone program. I recommend continuing with your other practitioners. They have expertise that is of great value. I still go for massages and would go back to other modalities in a heartbeat if I needed help. 

 

What you may find, is that as you develop your Block Therapy practice, you don't need to rely as heavily on others for relief. 

 

If you are currently under the supervision of a medical doctor it is important you let them know of any changes to your health routine. 

 

Do I need my own Block Buddy and where do I get one?

During the initial 3 sessions I provide a practice Block for clients in Fort McMurray. Clients outside of Fort McMurray will need to order their Block before getting started. I can help with that.

 

In order to practice Block Therapy at home on your own, you will need to purchase a Block Buddy. You can purchase these online or directly from me. When you buy them locally you save on some of the shipping cost. 

I've had this pain for so long and tried everything out there, how is this any different? 

Block Therapy is a self-care, lifestyle process that allows you to go at your own pace. It gets to the cause of much of our pain by addressing fascial adhesions that grip to bone. The process is unique because it puts you in control of your body and how to care for it. 

Block Therapy addresses the fundamentals including body posture, breath, fascia health, cause sites vs. pain sites, alignment and patience!

 

In October 2020, Justin introduced me to Block Therapy. To say that it has changed my life would be an understatement. 

 

I’ve dealt with chronic pain for 30+ years and this is the first modality to create long-lasting results at a deep tissue level.

 

Plus my body reacted quickly. I noticed a big difference in neck and shoulder pain after just 3-4 days of blocking!
 

Over the years, I’ve tried many other methods to manage pain (chiropractic, massage, physio, acupuncture, reiki; etc), but none had a lasting effect like the block. 

 

Today, I use no other treatments.

 

The best part for me is that I feel empowered and in control versus feeling powerless and at the mercy of my pain. Block Therapy has given me my life back as well as the means to be my own healer!
